Evangelism At HillsideGospel In A DayThe Bible, over the years, has received a lot of bad press. This is completely understandable given the way it has been misrepresented by various individuals and groups.Gospel In A Day is basically a day (or evening) where you can hear the TRUE MESSAGE of the gospel in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Think of it as a 'brain-storming' session where you can meet with a small number of people and ask any question you like. This does not involve 'brainwashing' of any sort, nor do we have an agenda of getting you to attend our church. We are a normal bunch of people (complete with faults & failings!) who simply want to share with you what we've heard and believe. Where you go with this message is up to you. The day starts with tea/coffee (smoking corner provided!) and an introduction as to what the day entails. This follows with a talk/discussion as to 'why we exist?' / 'what's life all about?'/ 'where are we going when we die?'--questions we've all asked ourselves many times before, but maybe not getting answers for……. At this point, we will have a believer share with you why they decided to follow Jesus along the Christian path. After lunch, you will hear the Bible story in a nutshell. Here we learn about:
If, at this point you're thinking, "sounds good, but I believe in God so I'm alright-THINK AGAIN. The Devil also believes in God, but do you think HE's going to heaven?!! Always a very informal gathering, interesting, lively and good-humoured, with food for body and soul. A session can be organised to suit your schedule. For more information contact Hillside. So You Think You're A Christian? There's a story that's told of two men who went into a church to pray. One was a religious man, a pillar of the community, the other a thief and a drug addict. The religious man stood at the front of the church and prayed: "Thank you God that I am such a good person. I am not greedy, dishonest, or adulterous like a lot of people. I fast regularly, pay my tithes and go to church every Sunday. Imagine, I could be like that loser down the back of the church." The 'loser', who had been afraid to enter the church in the first place for fear of being struck by lightning, kept his eyes downcast and simply whispered: "O God, be merciful to me a sinner". Which one of these men do you think is Christian? What Christianity IS NOT!…..
